Life goes on~~

Few hours ago, I received a call from one of my best friends, Yong Teng, who is about to further his studies in UK soon. Besides him, another friend of mine since primary school, Yun En, is also leaving Malaysia to pursue his studies in Canada. Out of a sudden, I felt like everyone is leaving me day after day. It affected my study mood and hence I ended up blogging instead of studying. I find it rather difficult to find a true friend who understands me recently. Apparently, those who really knows me well are drifting far apart from my life gradually.( Maybe except that annoying Teh Chin Kiong:P).

Apart from that, the recent CAT final results also caused some of my friends to leave us. With a passing rate of 58%, almost half of my class were gone and they were forced to take up CAT paper once again because of the audit paper. Well, I'm glad that I passed but I'm not so happy though as many of my friends were not able to proceed to ACCA together with the rest. Some of them actually cried and lost their jovial look because of this exam. But what else can we do? This is part and parcel of professional exams.

If we can't do well, we will get stuck forever.

Really hope that our friendship will not change although we are far apart from each other....

Countdown....

Tick tok...tick tok...
Another 2 days to go before my second semester results are out. I can sense my heart pounding and fear slowly crawls beneath my skin. Well, that was the first time I felt like I was bullshitting in my real exam as most of the questions are situational based questions. Very subjective though...

Hence, I decided to spend some quality time with my friends throughout the whole week. We had 2 birthday celebrations and steamboat together. Seems like everyone of us need some companion to release our tensions.=)

Pray hard and play hard at the same time. Hope I'll have some good news on Monday~~ Gambateh!!!!

A new semester

Have you ever caught in a dilemma?

The choice is simple, that's the typical answer you will get from an outsider. Somehow, I still pondering whether I had made the right decision to give up the opportunity for taking up ICAEW especially when I was questioned by others. I couldn't utter a good excuse, probably because I don't even know the reason to do so. All I can do is to convince myself that it's over and I have to focus on my studies in ACCA. Don't look back and pretending that nothing happened before,I told myself.

I have a mixed feelings when embracing the first semester of ACCA (although it is only a two weeks gap from CAT :P). Firstly, I lose a few friends who continue their studies in ICAEW. Then, I am quite worried about my previous semester's result which will be known in 10 weeks time. Thirdly, I don't know how to answer the queries of my friends and lecturers should they enquire the reasons why I declined the offer from BDO. Haiz....

I certainly hope that I can sail through everything without a hitch and the choice is right.

A visit to BDO office

This Thursday, I had the opportunity to visit BDO office, the fifth largest auditing firm in the world, at Jalan Sultan Ismail together with my friends. Prior to the trip, I was expecting to see a very hectic office environment with many staffs walking around. However, the true working environment of an audit firm surprised me. The office was very spacious but only a few staffs were around. We were told by Human Resource manager that auditors will spend most of the time in clients place and seldom hang around in the office. Hence, it seems like no one comes to work and yet they are actually working very hard outside the firm.

After the office visit, BDO had a group interview to select some of us to join the ICAEW programme. The group interview was quite relaxing, maybe because I was not interested in the programme as it requires us to half-work half-study. Nevertheless, it was a great experience to me. I actually received an offer from BDO to join that programme later in the evening soon after the interview!! It was my first successful interview ever since the tragedy of JPA interview.^^ It shows that I am capable enough to attract my potential employers' attention.

Hehe...But as I said earlier, I was not interested in the programme so I had to reject it politely and give the chance to others who really needs it. However, I would really like to thank BDO for building up my confidence and I will try my best in my future endeavour.
